Welsh Miners Lamps

Anna Davies has sold miner’s lamps for over 50 years and counts themselves proud to be a retailer this piece of Welsh Culture. Welsh miners lamps, also known as davy lamps, are highly collectable and are a great gift idea to commemorate Welsh history. The lamps were invented in 1815 by Sir Humphry Davy as a safe light source for use in the coal mines, as the mines contained dangerous flammable gases. 

All of our Welsh miner’s lamps for sale are made in Wales and are genuine working pieces. These traditional coal miner’s lamps are handmade using brass and are beautifully presented in a cylindrical box to keep your lamp safe.
